Today is the day!
Come visit us and fellow (Im)migrant & Refugee Rights Coalition of Guelph-Wellington groups at the University Centre, we’ll be tabling all day where you can find information about immigration, refugee, and migration myths!
In the evening, there’s an excellent panel discussion at 5:30pm in the University Centre courtyard. On June 30, 2012, the federal government implemented cuts to its Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP), which covers basic health care for refugees, refugee claimants and other non-citizens. Also, on December 15, 2012, the changes to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act contained in Bill C-31 came into effect. This diverse panel will discuss these changes and how they have affected the experience of refugees and refugee claimants in Canada.
Speaking on this panel will representatives from:
Health 4 All
No One Is Illegal
Refugee Law Office (Toronto)
Mennonite Coalition for Refugee Support
